Write a delicious cookbook for people who want to eat a variety of healthy foods, cook with easy-to-find ingredients, using a minimal amount of salt, onions, fat, cholesterol, or time.
I am a scientist, wife, teacher, and new mom. (The roles are listed in order of experience, not importance.)The kitchen is still my favorite place to visit with friends and family.
Cooking is all about love. My mom shows how much she loves me with the time we spend together in the kitchen, cooking, talking, and making favorite foods, like Sweet & Sour Meatballs, Lemon Streusel Cake, and bunny-shaped orange yeast rolls. Dad shows his love with his barbeque prowess and special treats like Cream Rolls from the bakery of a local grocery store. By the time I was in high school, I demonstrated my love for my parents and brothers by making dinner and desserts.
Cooking continues to be my primary means of expressing love. It motivates me to cook delicious meals for my husband and me to enjoy by candlelight. Love motivates me to create certain dishes for holidays each year to make the occasions special. Love motivates me to create weekly menus for my family that promote good health while still delivering excellent flavor. I love my husband, son, and self too much to fill our table with foods that may taste good, but fit into a heart disease/obesity lifestyle.
